About the Scarborough Wood Bank
Wood banks are like food banks. Volunteers contribute time and resources, people with extra to share donate, and neighbors who are not able to get their own firewood can get wood at low or no cost to supplement their heating needs.
Scarborough Wood Bank is a work in progress! A group of volunteers are in the early stages of creating a community wood bank to help our neighbors who use wood to heat their homes in Scarborough, Maine.
With the help of the Town of Scarborough and Project GRACE and Maine Wood Banks Network, we are setting up the Scarborough Wood Bank. View our presentation to the Scarborough Town Council, July 15, 2026. (>>View PDF) Or, watch the recorded workshop. (>>YouTube link. We are second, at about the 1:05:00 mark.)
UPDATE: Scarborough Town Council approves our application. Thank you!
